Pattern Description: Flowing bias cut dress with bodice ruched vertically at the center front. Knee-length skirt is formed by six gores that skim the body. Dress is lined for a flattering, smooth fit. Sleeves are short and gathered. Dress slips on without a closure.
Pattern Sizing: 0 - 18. I cut an 8 in the shoulders and waist and graded to a 12 in the bust and hips
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I made a few changes but overall, yes. I lengthen the hem two inches, changed the sleeve, and did not ruche the front bodice.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes! If you feel like sewing something up in a day this dress is a good way to go.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the simplicity of the pattern and how quickly it went together
Fabric Used: Rust cotton remnant from Britex Fabrics
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I drafted the sleeves to be a more fluttery 1930's shape. I added a keyhole in the back and 2" to the skirt hem. I also did not ruche the front bodice seam.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would! Probably in a lighter fabric.
This is a great pattern if you want something really easy but flattering.
