|This was my quilt for the Quilters Corner Sew Along that started in late January. I took my time and worked when I wanted to sew. The pattern is easy and fun. Highly addictive, too. My wall hanging is 24 x 24. I only used 4 of the 12 1/2 inch blocks for this wall hanging. I made many more, and they are in my storage box, ready to be joined together for another quilt, should the mood strike me to work on this pattern again. All the hard work is done, so I think I'll be making another one that is larger soon. The blocks were so much fun to do, that I could not stop making them! I loved this pattern so much. |
This is my 3rd quilt. I used high quality quilting cottons for the squares. Many of the fabric squares are from quilting cottons bought during our trip to Hawaii this summer. The pink lei floral, the royal blue floral, the turtles, the yellow fish, the red lei, and the light yellow with pink floral fabrics are all from Hilo, Hawaii. We bought a lot of fabric for quilting. Some of the other fabrics in this quilt were given to me, and I used them as I could.
This is my first quilt that I tried stippling on. I used my Bernina 630 and the BSR and had a ball. Stippling is great fun. No special pattern for the stippling. Just wondering all over the place.
The binding is much different than anything I have bought before. It is a batik and it looks likes stripes for a frame. I love the look.
The batting is Warm & Natural. The backing fabric is a light green I had in my stash.
All in all, I am very much pleased with it.
