|Pattern Description: |
Boys/Mens Boxer Shorts
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The fly extension was tricky to understand.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Once I figured out the fly extension the underwear is a quick make.
Homespun Quilting Cotton from Joann.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I will sew these again. I am in the process of sewing a second pair.
I made a muslin for the first pair. I also laid a RTW pair next to me when I was working with the fly extension. My son says they are the best underwear he has ever worn. My son is 6'4" tall and I didn't have to add any extra length to the pattern, so I would think they might be long on an average sized male. The underwear isn't complicated to make as they sew up like a pair of pj's. It was wrapping my head around how the fly extension is supposed to go that gave me pause. Given that some RTW underwear can be very pricey, it might be more cost effective to sew them yourself. I bought the fabric on sale at Joann with a 50% plus 20% coupon so the fabric was fairly inexpensive.
