Pattern Description: (From the Pattern Back) MISSES'/MISSES' PETITE DRESS AND CUMMERBUND: Pullover dress has fitted bodice, skirt front/back cut-in-one, no right side seam, and left side zipper. A: bias bodice. B: button/loop shoulder closing, dress cut on crosswise grain of fabric. Bias, self-lined cummerbund has hook/eye closure.
Pattern Sizing: Combinations: A5(6-8-10-12-14),E5(14-16-18-20-22); I used size 12 and altered the bust area.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it Did.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy to understand and follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the fullness of the skirt and I like the loop-button detail on the bodice shoulder.
Fabric Used: I used a Lovely Satin-backed Shantung and I trimmed the bodice with a Peau di soie (Duchess Satin).
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made View B, which featured a bordered fabric. My fabric was not bordered, so I mimicked the border on the upper bodice by adding a six inch strip of Peau di soie which I used Iron-on tricot to give it body. I also made the self fabric belt instead of the cummerbund at the client's request.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Most definitely. I already have it lined up to make for myself.
Conclusion: I really do enjoy making Vintage and Retro Garments. I think they are much more elegant than the garments of today.
