Child’s pullover dress with two tiers has gathered bodice, elasticized neckline and short sleeves and self-tie.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the simplicity of the construction of the dress. However, I was not fond of the trying to get the elastic through the casing. It was especially tough to get the elastic around the small circumference of the sleeve casing (as is usually the case when it comes to child-sized arms.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut the self-tie from the leftover contrasting fabric and eliminated the decorative bow from the front of the dress. Since I anticipated from past experience that I may have some difficulty in getting my bodkin with elastic through the casing, I increased the casing width by 1/8″ for both the sleeves and the neckline. Additionally, I pre-formed my casing by pressing at the appropriate widths prior to stitching the underarm seam of the sleeve(s).
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
