Lined dress with mock wrap bodice, full skirt, and tie belt. Pattern Sizing:
14-22. I made 16. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Such a pretty summer dress with halter-style top, but with an actual back, as I can never get halter backs to stay up. Fabric Used:
Diagonal striped fine knit mesh (nylon? polyester?). Note that the pattern back states "Unsuitable for obvious diagonals." Interestingly, it looks like that's what they have used for View B. The bodice halves are interestingly different (one stripes going diagonal, the other horizontal) but I could have probably done something about that by cutting separate left and right fronts instead of both together on folded fabric. I love it anyway. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Shortened bodice one inch as always; shortened skirt 1/2 inch. I first cut the long version, but marked the cutting line for the short version just in case I didn't like it. And I didn't. The diagonal stripe made the skirt seams just too weird with that volume of fabric. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Some seem to like this dress, others don't. I love it, but it's unlikely I'll make another. Conclusion:
A pretty summer dress. I think it would be important to use very light material as some complain about the volume. I might need to place a strategic tack in the bodice crossover as it does tend to open more than I can handle.
