|Pattern Description: This is one of the Vintage Vogue collection. It's a lined jacket with 3/4 length sleeves. It's rated to be of average difficulty.|
Pattern Sizing: The pattern contains small, medium, large, and extra large sizes. I made the medium size.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, for the most part. I found the directions for inserting the hair canvas to be a little confusing, but otherwise, the instructions were very straight forward.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the finished product! I also really liked the relative easiness of this pattern. There are no sleeves to insert, and so this is relatively simple jacket pattern.
Fabric Used:Wool blend.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I used fusible interfacing instead of hair canvas. I also ended up shortening the sleeves approximately 2 inches. The pattern is for a jacket with 3/4 length sleeves, but after attaching the cuffs, the sleeves were full length. Because the sleeves are rather full (wide), it seemed like too much sleeve for me. Especially if I wanted to wear it to work and teach in it. I can't deal with fussy clothes at work. For this reason, I shortened the sleeves to the 3/4 length seen on the pattern cover.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I really like this pattern and I will be making it again. It's a great wardrobe builder.
Conclusion: I was worried that this pattern would be too boxy or so long that it looked dumpy. But neither occurred. I love the length of this jacket and the way it drapes.
