Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Instructions were easy to follow, a lot of pieces and topstitching in this vest pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the godets in the back. However, when I wear the vest, I sometimes feel like a duck wagging my tail!
I believe it is a wool rayon blend. It had been in my stash for a number of years and looks very similar to the actual fabric used on the pattern envelope.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No alterations made to the vest. I made a size 10 and like the description, it is very close fitting. I did change the belt though - it calls for a piece of elastic to be used in the back of the belt, but I didn't have elastic that wide on hand and just opted to make a standard belt instead. Love the inseam pockets in the front!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I won't be sewing this again. It's more of a statement piece I believe and more than one in my wardrobe would be too many. If I were to sew it again, I would lower the waist at least 1/2" and maybe even 1". In the side view photo, the waist appears to be a little high.
A unique vest pattern with good design lines in the back and fun godets.
