|Pattern Description: Fitted shirts A, B, C, D, E have collar band, shaped hemline, below elbow or long sleeves with pleats, placket, button cuffs, front-button closing, topstitch trim and narrow hem. I made View D with the princess seams.|
Pattern Sizing: 6 - 22 I made an 8 in the shoulders and the back and a 10 everywhere else.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy to follow - one of the reasons I like sewing Butterick patterns
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked everything about it. Next go around I plan to add two buttons to the cuff rather than one to give the cuff better closure.
Fabric Used: a cotton/linen blend. The contrast is an Amy Butler cotton.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the bodice by two inches.
Once I decided to sew the blouse with contrasting pieces, I cut an additional collar, sewing two collars to the collar band.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This was my first shirt. I hope to make the pattern again!
Conclusion: I put off making a shirt, but now that I've completed my first one I'm ready for more!
