Pattern Description: Several different styles of sunhats and a turban
Pattern Sizing: SM, M, and L
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? It did and it didn't. I wanted the brim to have a nice fold as in View B.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked how you can adapt this pattern to make it what you want (I guess that's true of any pattern).
Fabric Used: Linen on the outside and a beautiful Pucci silk on the underside of the brim.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added a really stiff interfacing, but the hat was still a bit floppy. I sprayed some "Stiffen Stuff" to make a bit more crisp, and it worked for a bit. I think I'll have to substitute buckram for the interfacing.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I may sew it again in a different fabric.
Conclusion: I think this is a great pattern for a fun sun hat. I wore it with Simplicity 1877 (reviewed on this site as well) as an ensemble for my sister's wedding.
