Pattern Sizing: I made in in US size 16 in view B (short jacket). Burda patterns often end up too big on me but this coat fit perfectly.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the empire waist and the darts in the back. It could probably work as a non-maternity jacket. Oh and the raglan sleeves!
Fabric Used: Wool coat
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I needed a fall maternity jacket right now so I did not put a lining and I didn't put pockets. There is no button hole for the bottom button: it was simply sewn on the top flap so that I would have room for my expanding belly (19 weeks in the picture).
EDIT: I've added a new picture at 34 weeks. It's winter now so I don't wear this coat anymore but I was curious to see if it would still fit at the end of my pregnancy. It does!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes.
Conclusion: I used a cape during my first pregnancy but I soon realized that a cape doesn't work when you have to carry a toddler or push a stroller! Thank you Burda for this great pattern. I've been getting many compliments for this jacket!
