Leotard with contrast yoke and several sleeve and yoke design options Pattern Sizing:
multi-sized pattern w/22 sizes from child through adult What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that it came together quickly -- I traced, cut, and sewed it in one afternoon. It looks good on and is comfortable. Very simple pattern made a little bit more fancy by the contrast yoke. My daughter likes the scoop neck as opposed to the hook-fastened keyhole back. Fabric Used:
I used a polyester spandex neon print with little holographic foil sequins on it for the bottom, and a 4-way stretch metallic gold nylon spandex for the yoke, both from Spandex World. My daughter picked out the wild neon print. It was a bit of a pain because the needle bounces off those little foil sequins. I had to stop using a stretch needle and switch to a sharp because my thread kept breaking. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the pattern as is, sleeveless with the scoop neck I sized up one size because I wanted some growing room and I wasn't sure how well the bottom fabric would work, because it doesn't have much stretch in the length, only the width. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Will certainly sew it again, especially since my daughter likes the scoop neck design better than the keyhole back with the hook and eye fastener. Conclusion:
Great easy pattern for a leotard, with lots of options for customizing.
