Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, very clear.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I wanted to try making a skirt, so this was the pattern I chose. I liked the variety of choices and the fact that the skirt sits AT the waist rather than below it.
Also like the multiple darts at the waistband. I have to get better at size though -- I had to size down the waist to a 14 after sewing the side seams and trying it on, and adjust the waistband accordingly.
This was also my first ever try at inserting a zipper, and this fabric was really easy to work with so the zipper wasn't actually very painful at all! I'm quite pleased with it. I hadn't sewn on a waistband before either, and wasn't as excited by that...perhaps I'll replace it with a facing like some other reviewers have mentioned.
A brown floral print microfibre of some kind that has been in my stash for AGES.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added side seam pockets, as usual.
And added a lining! This was my first skirt I've tried, and the first time I've tried lining something...and I think that the lining is my favourite thing about this skirt! I love how it turned out.
I also added a hook & bar fastener to the waistband in place of a buttonhole and button.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Now that I've tried it and see the sizing issues I will definitely try again. There are so many ways that this could be made up. I do recommend it.
I enjoyed making this and know I'll wear it a lot. I learned a lot making this even though it's so simple. Now I have no excuse not to tackle more zips.
**not sure why the 2 small photos look greenish -- the skirt is brown like the photo where I am wearing it
