Pattern Description: misses dress or top, jacket and pants
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I made the dress. Yes it looked like the photo.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. I did have to change the construction order on the sleeves as I used bias tape bound edges instead of the normal hem method. I bound edges first then constructed the sleeve.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the princes seams and the cute sleeve scallop detail
Quilting cotton and cotton polyester store bought bias tape
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Addes bias tape detail to the neck, sleeve, waste, and hem. Lowered the neckline by 3/4 inch circumferentialy as it is very high as drafted. Cut a size 10 and graded to a 12 at waste and cut a 12 skirt. Did not have to make any other changes. Did 1/2 inch seem allowances at waist only and 5/8 inch everywhere else and this was perfect. Could have done the normal 5/8 but I want to be able to dance and eat a big meal and not bust the zip or something. Also, I cut a hem facing from the skirt pattern pieces so I could attach bias tape and still have a substantial amount of weight at the bottom... This is just my preference.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! This dress feels great. I will probably make the peplum top too.
