Pattern Description: Bodice with added straps and dirndl skirt.
Pattern Sizing: 12 with modifications
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not really due to the skirt I used.
Were the instructions easy to follow?I didn't use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the versatility of this pattern. There are so many looks you can create.
Fabric Used: A John Wolf original fabric. It's beautiful!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I altered the bodice pattern pieces according to my measurements as taught by Joi Mahon. I only used the bodice and strap pieces and just gathered the skirt as it was cut on the crossgrain due to being a border print. I also only lined the bodice and did not hem it. I just left the selvage as it is so neat and sits perfectly. The stiffness of the fabric makes it perfect for this kind of dress.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes I am sure I will use this again. I think the waistine is a tiny bit high for me. I'm almost tempted to add a waist piece but that would mean having to redo the zipper.
Conclusion: A great dress that literally took me 5 hours from cutting to wearing out. I had a bee in my bonnet and had to speed sew. It all worked out fine without needing to muslin.
I do think maybe it is a touch young as I could imagine a very young child wearing it - but too bad...
