Men's brief, trunk and thong. I am reviewing the trunks.
Childrens size 2 through men's XX-large
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions are good. I only had difficulty with the steps relating to fig 16 and fig 17. It says to place one assembled piece on top of the other, right sides together. If you ignore the right sides together bit I find it much easier to understand. Place the two pieces together as they are and sew over the seam line of both pieces to join at that point. Then flip open so that all seams are enclosed inside the piece.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love how quick they are to make. I love the RTW look of the trunks. My only issue was deciphering fig.s 16 & 17 as above.
Cotton jersey. I managed to score some nice striped elastic I used on one and bought some tan elastic for the other pair. The hardest part of making these look RTW is sourcing elastic that looks the part.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No alterations made.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have made 5 pair of these trunks and can see more in the future (having 2 sons and one husband!) The price of RTW undies is high compared to the ease of making them and the fact that I use remnant pieces that (in my mind) haven't cost me anything. The hardest part is sourcing RTW-looking elastic.
This pattern is OOP but seems to have been replaced by 3242 which looks very similar (at least for the men's trunks). This is a great pattern and I highly recommend it.
