|Pattern Description: |
Close-fitting tops. B: Purchased buckle. D: Strap with shoulder elastic casing. I made view C
Sizes 4 - 20. I cut a size 20.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No because I modified it a bit.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I didn't like the twist in the front but I liked how easy it went together.
Purple butterfly large poly knit from Jo Ann's
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I chose a size smaller to cut out like others suggested but will cut two or more sizes smaller next time to fit snugger. I sewed the front opening 2 1/2 inches higher than the pattern suggested, like others. I like it better without the twist in the front but it gaped on the sides so I made a bust dart to take it in. I also had to take in the back 2 inches because it sagged too much. I left off the hemming to make it lay flatter.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, with modifications and a warning to make a trial run (muslin) first.
I really love it. It looks great. I will not make the other views because one shoulder tops do not look good on me. More on my blog Stitching In The Barn
