First I want to thank all of you who have reviewed this pattern previously. Your tips and photos were a great help.
I liked the picture on the pattern envelope but since I do not have a 5'11" model body, I questioned wether this would be a good pattern for me. After seeing this shirt on others, I knew it would work for me too.
I selected a very thin stretch polyester from JoAnn's clearance rack. There were only two pattern pieces for the shirt. I chose a size 8 (my standard size) I used chalk to mark my cutting lines as the fabric is slippery and difficult to cut a smooth line. I serged the back seam and used stretch stitch on the sewing machine for the rest of the shirt.
Only took a few hours to complete and the only alteration was to taper the back at the neck. I guess I don't stand up as straight as the pattern makers assumed With the advise of others, I sewed the front neck 1 inch higher but I should have made that 2 inches. It's still very low cut. I didn't shorten the length as I usually do for my 5 foot figure. I'm long waisted so it worked.
I would recommend this pattern to those who have been sewing for a while and have experience with thin slippery knit fabrics. You also need to have the experience in selecting the appropriate fabric to get the correct draping otherwise, no matter how well you sew the pieces together, it will be a flop.
I'm sure I will make this again. I love cowl necks and drapy clothing and once in a while I like quick projects.
