|Pattern Description: |
Misses' princess seamed and slightly flared dress in two lengths, has front button/loop closing, three short sleeve variations, sweetheart or V-neckline with optional collar.
I cut in one size smaller than usually because the pattern runs large.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, exepted that my dress is sleeveless. It has back tie ends and a 3 3/4" wide ruffled hem band.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, they were concise.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the overall look of the dress, the sweetheart neckline, the front underlap and the button/loop closing.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I sewed the dress in size 10 instead of my usual 12. Sleeves and shoulder pads have been omitted.
To get a better fit, I narrowed the armholes by taking in the shoulder and underarm seams.
Armholes were finished with shaped facings before being topstitched.
The neckline and the front opening edges were also topstitched.
I shortened the dress at waistline by 1" (Petite adjustment) and at hemline by 4 3/4" before adding a ruffled hem band.
The dress has six buttons and loops, instead of seven, sewn along the front opening edges. It has also back tie ends.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others
I would like to sew it again and I would recommend this OOP pattern to others. The dress was not fast to make but was very pleasant to put together.
Cute front buttoned dress pattern with two neckline and three short sleeve variations.
