|Pattern Description: Pants with elastic waistband and large drapes at the sides, there is also a top included, which I didn't sew (not yet, that is)|
8-14 and 16-22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I think so, even though I used a different fabric type
Were the instructions easy to follow?
At the first moment dealing with the pattern parts seems more confusing than it actually is when sewing it. It's in fact quite easy to sew, you just have to watch which piece goes on which other piece. The instructions are fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's an easy to wear pant, just pull it on, very comfortable (roomy!), it's a fun piece, it's very airy, great for summer.
Fabric Used: a light cotton. But I sewed it several times, the others are in linen, in a linen-wool-blend, which is a wonderful fabric, by the way, if you find such a blend: No iron needed, that's almost unbelievable ) , and in a light wool.
The pattern calls for knits. But I don't like pants in a knit that much so I used wovens. It worked fine, with all the ones I sewed. I sewed a size 16, which is probably my regular size. European size 40-42, I keep getting confused, which size that is in American sizes. The measureband is my dear friend.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: There is no waistband. It's said to just tuck under and insert the elastic. And they are a bit high cut (for my body at least). I cut this upper height down quite a bit, about 5 cm.
Then I added a waistband of about 3cm, and ended up with the pants being about one inch lower than originally. It's now sitting somewhere around my belly. You can easily adjust it to your body and how you prefer it, at least cutting the height down worked fine with my pants.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I sewed it several times already. I'll make a break now with this pattern. But next summer will come and then I might just sew it again. I would recommend it to everybody, who likes that style.
Funny pants. Not the first choice if one is out for some serious business though, I believe. )
