|Pattern Description: |
Misses' Sportswear. Cynthia Rowley Collection
Misses 14-22, I cut the 22.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Mostly, they look longer on the envelope
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I loved the unique look, I just didn't like how they looked on me when made from a stiffish fabric. My big hips made the hems stick out everywhere.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I used my rolled hem foot to hem the bottom of all the parts so the hem is longer. I left off the button holes and tie from the overlay. I also left off the bias facing around the waist and just sewed the two together and flipped the overlay out.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Maybe with modifications, the shirt also looks like it would go together easy. Yes, it is an interesting pattern and if you have the right shape and want to tackle the long hems, go for it.
If you have very slim hips this might be a good pattern for you. I may try it in a knit, closing the top of the overlay and leaving out the zipper, adding some length and an elastic waistband, but I would have to be bored with everything else to do it.
