|Pattern Description: Baby & Small Toddler size basic coordinates. Pants, tops, jacket & jumper.|
Pattern Sizing:9 months-3 years. I made size 12 months.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?No, but that's because I only used the pattern as a shape template. I was actually copying Mini Boden heart patch cords and I experimented with the top a little bit.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Didn't use them. See above.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pants went together fast and the fit is good. The shirt doesn't fit as well and while I don't particularly like a zipper in baby clothes, it is extremely easy to put on.
Fabric Used:Pinwale corduroy from Joann for the pants, printed knit stripe jersey from Joann and I cut up a Carter's pink dress for the sleeves, yoke & neckband on the shirt.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Lots. I changed the waistband to a paper sack style, added heart shaped patches at the knee, top stitched the side seams and did a triple stitch hem for decoration.
For the shirt, I butted two fabrics together to cut the front, used the yoke fabric for the sleeve and used the hem of the original carter's dress as the neck band. I think the pattern called for a binding. If I make the shirt again, I will make the shoulders narrower and the overall length longer. My daughter is 10 months and petite-still wears size 9 month clothing. The shirt is way too big across the shoulders but I feel like it's already almost too short in the sleeve & overall length.
Pants I will use seam binding on the hem to make them prettier since I have the turn a cuff until she grows into them
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Absolutely. Just make a tester of the shirt before you commit in a fabric you love.
Conclusion: Good basic pattern. I'll make it again and post the results. I bought a few more inexpensive corduroy fabrics to coordinate with some cute Carter's tops for fall/winter. Lots of possibilities with this basic pattern.
