|Pattern Description: |
Misses Dress - could be considered a "faux wrap dress"
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes (except for the sleeves, which I changed.)
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I hadn't seen pleats done in such a plain rectangle box before, but it was definitely an easy way to do it, and it does make the exact look as shown on the pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The fit is fabulous and it's easy to make. I also like that the neckline wasn't too plunging.
A stretchy knit fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The pattern, although it clearly looks like it would almost always be made with a knit, actually called for a zipper, which I omitted and adjusted for. I suppose if you were using chiffon, it's good to have that option. But if you do use a knit with any decent degree of stretch, I can't imagine you would need the zipper.
For some reason I decided at the last minute that flowing sleeves might be nice. The dress is fitted, even in the skirt area, and I thought this would give it some movement.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will definitely make it again - probably with short sleeves in a spring or summer print. It was quick and easy to make, with no steps that were confusing or stopped me in my tracks.
Fun! I recommend it!
