The Cambie Dress is a fitted, fully lined dress with a gorgeous sweetheart neckline and flattering built-in cap sleeves.
0-16. i cut a 0, and took it in to make it fit with a knit fabric.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
i made several modifications, but yes, the pattern makes up as described.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
i did not use the instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
i loved the bodice shape, the cap sleeve, and the skirt options. those elements combined let me put together exactly the dress i wanted based off of an inspiration photograph.
nylon knit mesh from fabric.com.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
1 - i re-drew the neckline for a straight neck instead of the sweetheart.
2 - i re-drew the back to have a V at the back neckline
3 - i eliminated the waistband
4 - i used both skirt patterns (the gathered skirt as well as the a-line) to create a slim skirt with a gathered, cutaway overskirt.
5 - i made the dress in a sheer mesh, and finished all of the raw edges with bias binding.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
this is a great basic that can easily become a TNT. i may use it again as the basis for other designs.
very happy with my final product. sewaholic delivers yet again with a reliable basic.
