|Pattern Description: |
Misses' semi-fitted dress in two lengths, is flared below the waist, sleeveless, short or long sleeves with princess seams and back zipper closure, has optional belt and trimming.
I made view G from two different fabrics.
B(8-10-12), C(10-12-14), D(12-14-16), E(14-16-18), G(20-22-24)
I cut size 10 and removed some width from the lower portion of the dress.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, the dress looks like the drawing, but it is less flared below the waist. It is made from two different fabrics and it has band sleeves.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, they were detailed and very clear.
What did you particularly like about the pattern?
I like the overall look of the dress. The pattern was very easy to alter and to modify. It was also simple to put together.
I have nothing to dislike about this pattern.
Rayon Bengaline for the side front, the side back and the band sleeves.
Rayon an Linen blend for the front and the back.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The dress was sewn in one size smaller than usually and the front neckline has been raised by 3/8".
The dress is 1 1/2" longer and has a stitched 5/8" narrow hem.
I removed some flare from the dress by taking in the seams from the waist to the hemline.
In total, the width of the dress has been reduced by: 1 1/4" at waistline, 6 3/4" at hips and 14 3/4" at hemline.
Self-faced and bias cut band sleeves finish the armholes.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others
I enjoyed making this dress and I would like to sew it a second time, using three different fabrics as suggested on the pattern envelope.
I would recommend this "8 great looks" easy pattern if you have some luck to find it.
Very fun dress to put together, very easy project too.
