Pattern Description: Misses Misses Petite Jacket and Coat.
Pattern Sizing:XS to XL. I made M (12-14).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? No because of my design changes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? This is a jacket/coat with no darts. Very simple.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I wanted a slightly boxy jacket with no chest darts. This fits the bill. The jacket pattern has fussy puffy Peter Pan collars which I omitted. I didn't think they would suit me.
Fabric Used: Hot Pink Cotton sweatshirt material in my stash.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I omitted the fussy puffy Peter Pan collar. I added back darts to give the jacket a bit more shape. I didn't line the jacket. I put the buttons according to my body fit instead of following the guidelines on the pattern.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I thought it looked okay on me but hubby says it makes me look stumpy. So I'm not sure if I would sew it again. I guess it may look fine as a coat because coats are supposed to be boxy. My choice of the thick cotton sweatshirt material also makes the jacket stiff and more boxy looking.
Conclusion: Very very simple to sew. Perhaps better as a coat than a jacket.
