I started out using lining satin because I didn't want to spend the money. Big mistake. The bodice needs a bit thicker satin to look right. I broke down and re-purchased the bodice fabric and was MUCH happier. I stayed with the cheap stuff for the skirt and that was a hassle. I ended up having to zigzag over every edge just to keep the fraying at bay. It is worth the extra money to work with good fabric. The pattern itself was great. I really liked how the arms worked out. They look nice. I left off the hip things because my daughter us a bit hippy and I thought it would just add bulk. It was a good choice for us. I recommend measuring the bodice and waist carefully. I ended up having to let out the seams a bit because it was going to be too tight at the waist. It looks great now though.
