Comfort Jersey dress
34-44 Runs big (too big!)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Kind of. But I took it in a lot!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Instructions were ok, it's very easy to sew. Spent some time to figure out how to finish the neckline though, but I am new to sewing with knits. This is my second knit dress actually..
<Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I chose this pattern as I wanted to combine 2 different pieces of fabric: black jersey and border print jersey (I just didn't have enough of print fabric for a dress). This pattern looked like perfect choice.
However, as it was mentioned by other reviewers (and I didn't read them before making dress - silly me!), this pattern makes a huge dress!
I made both back and front pieces 10cm more narrow, and even after that I had to take in side seams quite a lot! And it is still quite loose..The neckline initially was too low, and I had to shorten the pattern too..
Quite a lot of alterations for such a simple pattern!
Jersey with symmetrical butterfly print on both borders . I loved the fabric as its print reminded me of Escher painting with butterflies.. However, I didn't have enough for the dress, so had to buy some of black jersey. Both of them came from ebay.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I wouldn't. Not the best of Burda patterns.
Anyway, after all alterations, it came out more or less ok, not hugely flattering, but very comfortable.. I'm glad that I didn't ruin that pretty butterfly fabric after all
