|Pattern Description: From Jalie.com: "A: Racerback top B: Halter top C: Top with criss-cross spaghetti back straps. Necklines and armholes are finished with foldover elastic and the bottom edge is finished with an encased elastic. D: Ultra-low waist shorts with encased elastic at the waist E: Low-waist shorts with waistband (no elastic at the waist)." I made view A. |
Pattern Sizing: 19" to 42" bust. I made a size Q, which was technically one size below my measurements. This was what the Slapdash Sewist had suggested with an earlier iteration of this pattern. I also followed her advice in tracing full pieces instead of messing with lining up the pattern on the fold.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like having a pattern for a running top. The fabric and pattern together cost me about as much as a cheap one would in the store. If I make more (as I plan to), I'll really come out ahead pretty quickly.
Fabric Used: "Performance Knit Deep Sky Blue" from Fabric.com, a Poly/lycra blend with 75% four way stretch.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Other than sizing down, none, really. I know that the stitching in the front is a little wonky and that there are some threads, but I wanted to get a picture this morning before I went out running so I could say in my review if the sizing didn't work.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes!
Conclusion: A really nice pattern, well designed.
By the way, in the full body picture, I sewed (or knit, in the case of the socks) everything I'm wearing. The shirt is Jalie 2682, the crop top (barely visible at the zipper) is Jalie 3247, the skirt is Jalie 2796, and the leggings are Cake Espressos.
