Cap sleeved dress with scoop neck and gathered rectangle skirt.
36-44 - I cut a 36
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Usual Burda. I tried various bag-in-lining methods but ended up using their wooden spoon method in the end. It was easier that figuring out how to bag the lining of a side opening.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The pattern only includes the bodice pieces, then you measure your own skirt. Which means you can make it as wide as you like.
I also love the way the sleeves are cut onto the bodice. Cap sleeves rock!
Stretch cotton my sister got me after visiting New York. Hooray for gifted fabrics
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't cut the skirt as full - I used the entire width of fabric only had one side seam - just the opening on the zipper side. Else I wouldn't have had enough fabric.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I've already sewn it again - in white cotton eyelet like the magazine photo. Ready for summer!
I love this dress. The photo's are a bit over-exposed - the fabric colour is way more saturated and my legs are less luminous. Ha. Winter legs + Midday sun = Glare!
