|Pattern Description: The StyleArc blurb says "You will be intrigued by this fabulous drape top. The clever design comes together from just one main pattern piece. Easy to sew, the outcome will be a fashionable asymmetrical draped top."|
Pattern Sizing: This Style Arc pattern can be ordered in sizes 4 to 30.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? StyleArc patterns are brief, and there is a certain amount of knowledge that is assumed. If you have experience though, they were fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Well, I liked the design, and the fact it looked like a Japanese "Drape Drape" top without the need to do some pattern grading, to bring it up to my size.
It was easy to sew, as promised, although you need to be careful that when sewing the two seams on the top, you are sewing the right bits together.
What I didn't like was the facings. Don't like facings at the best of times, especially in knits, and I think they detract from the look of the pattern. If you can get rid of the facings...go for it!
Fabric Used:Silk jersey
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:For once, nothing, nada, zilch!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This top is rather distinctive, and I'm not sure I need another asymmetrical top in my wardrobe.
But I would recommend this pattern if this type of drapey style appeals to you.
Style Arc delivers on its promise, an easy sew to make a fashion-conscious top.
