Pattern Description: The ultimate fully-lined, special-occasion dress with crinoline. View A features a Peter Pan collar, tulip cap sleeves, tubular waistband, and front bow detail. View B is sleeveless and has a modified Peter Pan collar and a bow at the back.
Pattern Sizing: 6m-4, I made size 12-18m for my average sized 20 month old. I find O+S to run a bit large for my daughter.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, although I mishmashed some of the parts (collar from View B, sleeves from View A).
Were the instructions easy to follow? This was my first time inserting a full lining and an invisible zipper. The instructions give you ample help with both. There are directions for inserting the zipper with or without an invisible zipper foot.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I made this dress for my daughter to be in a wedding and received many compliments on it. It's very fancy looking but wasn't as hard to sew as I thought it would be.
Fabric Used: Polyester crepe-back satin from Jo-Ann's. Polyester lining from JA in coordinating color.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The pattern called for a 4" hem. I sewed a 2" hem instead.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I can see myself sewing this again if given the right occasion. It's easily adaptable for any situation.
Conclusion: LOTS more photos and details on my blog.
