Unlined moto jackets have collar and overlapping fronts with zipper closure in left panel seam. View A has epaulettes, waistband, pockets with zippers with gusset at bottom edge of sleeves, and snap or button closure on epaulettes and waistband. View B has hemmed bottom edge. I made View A. Pattern Sizing:
XS-XL I made a Small and it's roomy. Next time I might try the XS. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! Were the instructions easy to follow?
This is my second KS pattern and I love their directions. Clear, concise and good illustrations. All the zip installations including front, pockets and gussets at the wrists were easy as pie. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Likes: All the zippers! Pattern is well drafted and goes together really easily. If you have to shorten the front zip they give a really good technique to make a zipper stop at the top. It is of self fabric and blends right into your jacket as (barely) seen here. No dislikes! Fabric Used:
Olive drab mystery brocade Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I slimmed down the sleeves and took in the waist to give it some shaping. I used snaps at the waistband and on the epaulettes. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I want to make another of View B without the waistband. Conclusion:
I am so happy with my first moto. And, I am really loving KS patterns. This was downloadable.
The jeans are Jalie from a cotton spandex velveteen in an awesome python pattern that can't really be seen. The top is my second Renfrew, this time with a Missoni knit. Both of those have been reviewed to death so I will spare you that, but do make this jacket!
