|Pattern Description: |
Misses' fitted or semi-fitted sleeveless tops, are button-back, have upper edge and strap variations, bust darts or front gathers with empire waist, optional elastic waist casing, side slits and ribbon/lace trim.
I made view D, the top with empire waist, upper elastic casing and side slits.
I sewed size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, both tops are similar to the drawing, but they have shoulder straps.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, they were clear.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like several things about this pattern:
- The self-faced upper front and upper back;
- The back-button closure;
- The elastic casing above bust.
Polyester Charmeuse for Top #1
Rayon Challis for Top #2
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The tops have shoulder straps that help the elasticized upper edge to stay in place.
Elastic casing has been widened as a wider elastic was inserted through it.
3/4" buttons were sewn to the back instead of the 1/2" called for.
Because I was short on fabric, the upper front of Top #2 was not cut on the fold.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others
I might use this pattern again as I would like to try the version with an elastic waist casing (views B and C).
I have sewn recently the version with the bust darts only (view A).
I would recommend this pattern to everyone. Six nice tops can be easily done using this pattern.
Very easy to make sleeveless tops.
