Misses kimono sleeved tee, fitted through bust and waist, slightly flared at hip
XS-2XL (31.5 - 43.5 bust) - I cut a L
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. I don't use her directions for the neckline though...I just made a binding myself for the neck and arms
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love that this is a 1 yard pattern. I love that it can easily and quickly be constructed on the serger. It fits so well too.
Some cotton/lycra knit from Hancock. I didn't get a photo of the bolt end like I normally do. The white area has a slight sheen. It is *very* soft.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Slight fake-swayback adjustment - aka I cut somewhat of a wedge and then eyeballed the bottom hem to add it back. shhhhhh! I don't want to complicate it by adding a center back seam. ESPECIALLY on this version with stripes.
I didn't add seam allowance, mostly because I forgot -- again. The fabric is really drapey so it fits just fine. I constructed on the serger with ~ 3/8" seams.
I created a binding and used my twin needle for the first time. I got a lot of tunneling unfortunately. I'll have to keep practicing that.
I made the binding the width of one white stripe ~1.5". That wasn't really wide enough. Next time I'll cut my binding closer to 2-2 1/4" and serge it in place. I also used the twin needle on the hem.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This is definitely a TNT. I want to make another version and add rouching at the sides for the last few inches. I think if you haven't tried this pattern, you should give it a try! So many options for customizing it!
Love my new tee! Wore it yesterday and got a compliment while out to breakfast. I don't like how I left that white space at the very top with the red darn it!
