|Pattern Description: Dress with pleats and darts in bodice, gathered and pleated skirts with pockets, elasticised back with ties above zipper.|
Pattern Sizing:I made size 8
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yup!
Were the instructions easy to follow? No - this was a very tricky pattern, with a lot of bodice detailing to complete. Rather hard for a spatially challenged gal like myself!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The fit isn't brilliant, and it was a lot of work for a result that I wouldn't say knocked my socks off.
Also the bodice lining does not match up with the bodice, which is frustrating. Mine was out by a good 4cm, and I have read online that others have had this issue also. Bah!
Fabric Used:Cotton quilting with a scalloped line pattern.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I didn't gather the top of the bodice in the middle section, as I wanted a bit more coverage. Plus I thought it looked messy.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? If I sewed it again I would use a single colour fabric, as my fabric pattern just looks lost in this. I would only recommend if you were a competent seamstress, and liked sewing very fiddly, intricate designs.
Conclusion: I like this dress, but for the work involved I wanted to love love love it. Oh well! You can check it out more on my blog, Jorth!
