Pattern Description: From the magazine: "This dress shines with its large waterfall neckline, wide batwing sleeves, and ankle length skirt."
Pattern Sizing: 36 - 44. I cut a 42 bodice and a 44 skirt grading out to 46 at the hip.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much. I used a print which makes the lines more difficult to see, and I made mine knee length.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. The pattern is well drafted and the construction is easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the variation on the cowl neck dress. The bat wing sleeves are trendy and comfortable. The cowl is very generous- bordering on too much volume.
Fabric Used: ITY knit from Hancock's.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added 1" of length to the bodice above the waist and 1" of length to the skirt below the waist. I shortened the sleeves by 1.25" I ended up taking the shoulders up by about 1/2" to bring the neckline in after the dress was done.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I do recommend the pattern, but I probably won't make it again just because I have so many other patterns to try.
Conclusion: This is an easy dress that is comfortable and trendy. For more info and photos please visit my blog.
