|Pattern Description: |
Package includes patterns and instructions to make aprons; apron A has contrast overskirt, ties, pockets and bias binding; apron B has contrast pockets, ties and strap; apron C has contrast flounces and ties; optional contrast bow for kids.
Childrens 3/4, 5/6, 7/8. I cut a 3/4
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No. I used a version of view A. I didn't want to do the overskirt because I didn't want to do the bias binding.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't use them for this one
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This kid version made up SO fast. Maybe an hour, max.
The underskirt of A is basically a rectangle (it's very slightly narrower at the top). I serged the 3 sides and did a narrow hem. I lined the pockets (so much easier, imo) and top stitched them in place. For the waistband, I sewed the ties to the waistband, turned the waistband to the right side and sewed it to the skirt. I then serged the raw edge.
Leftover quilting cotton from the apron I made for her mom HERE
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I left off the overskirt, I also added 2 pockets instead of 1.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I'd definitely sew it again. I just don't have too many little girls to gift for!
