Misses dress, tunic, and pants. Loose fitting, slightly A-line dress, two inches below knee, ankle length or tunic has oversize bias turnover collar or standing collar and short or full length sleeve. Straight-legged pants, without side seams, have elasticized waist.
Size 10 made straight without adjustments to size.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes with the exception of my sleeve change.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes they were for as much as I followed them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the over sized standup collar. I disliked that the darts are so long. I am not sure where they thought breasts should be but these seemed to end at the center of my chest before I adjusted them.
A double knit from my stash and another for the sleeve gusset I added.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
I added a blacksleeve gusset because I ran out of fabric. It turned out to be a happy accident.
I omitted the zipper altogether as the fabric has a lot of stretch and the neckline is large.
I did not tack the collar down, rather I left it free to wear it different ways.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and Yes. I have not seen many similar current turtleneck patterns, but Vogue 8670 comes close if you cut the neckline wider, increase the size of the collar and made it longer.
Conclusion: This is such a fun tunic; the collar is huge and can be adjusted to be worn a few ways.
