Misses' tunic or shirt with sleeve variations Easy to Sew pattern.
I sewed view D w/o sleeves
6-14, I cut a straight 14.
Finished measurements: 41" bust, 37" waist.
My measurements 39" bust, 34" waist.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Well, I didn't add sleeves or the mandarin collar.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Except for the collar. This was a UFO that I pulled out while cleaning up the sewing room. I put it on my dress form and thought, WOW! It fits pretty well. It even had the buttonholes done already. But I remembered fighting with the mandarin collar and I have already tossed the remnant fabric pieces for this pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the fit and the neckline.
I found the mandarin collar difficult to understand at the time (perhaps 3 months after I started sewing). I might be able to get through it now.
Cotton fabric with a touch of lycra from SR Harris warehouse in Minneapolis.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Left off the sleeves and the mandarin collar, finishing the armholes and neckline with white bias tape.
I need a swayback adjustment for sure and small narrow shoulder adjustment. I think in a fabric without lycra I'd need an FBA.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! I was surprised at how well it fit out of the envelope and disappointed I let the collar hold me back! It uses little fabric (even the tunics!) and is comfortable to wear.
Great little top that made it out of UFO status this weekend!!
