Great jacket! I just love reading your no nonsense reviews. I always learn something. Did you really grow 1/2 inch with yoga?

Yes, believe it or not I did! Goes to show you how compressed my spine was - eek!

Cool fabric, is this another yoga-couture item? I'm grateful for the zipper pull info, I'll have to investigate further the mysteries of zips.

Great review Gigi. I was contemplating this pattern for fall, and now I know what to watch out for!

Thanks for the excellent heads-up on the collar and blouson waistband. I really, really don't need anything at the waistline that makes me look as though I'm carrying (any more of) my lunch in there!

Very nice jacket, thanks for the review! I will have to try a Jalie pattern. Having a DD, DDIL & 4 DGDs, this pattern line is something I definitely should explore!

Very nice, Gigi--your work is always such an inspiration, now your yoga is, too!

Nice job! Your alterations make it look even better. I don't like a blouson look either, and very tapered sleeves... well, WNTW advises against them for most women. Good on your for yoga paying off!

Gigi, I love your new version!! The stripes are *perfect* and the purple zip is very nice too. I feel better about my large stash of various zippers now ;o) What a great use of stash-I feel inspired!

The new version is great, Gigi. Did you un-angle the collar front on this version? And what length zipper worked in your new one?

I like them both! How do you get the pockets to line up perfectly on either side of the zipper?

Just Lovely. Love the idea of stripes and the zipper to the top of the collar. I have made about 7 of these from size 4 to 14 and the hoodie is my favorite. It's a great pattern.

You guys are so nice! Thank you. :-) Karla, I started with a really long zipper and ended up using 23". I try to always buy the longest separators that I can for my stash. I'm never sure exactly how long a zipper I'll need after I do the FBA! I made the same adjustments to the collar. I really like it this way so I'm going to go ahead and alter the pattern. Sue, I just sewed one side, then chalk marked the match points on the other side. Sometimes if a fabric is slithery I'll machine-tack all the match points in place before I start.

Gigi -- Both jackets are lovely. Thanks for such an informative review. What is a Clover bias tape maker? Is it another sewing aide I need to get?

Gigi, if I become rich and famous will you be my personal designer and seamstress? :) Everything you make, even the 'difficult' ones, turn out so *perfect*! Classy, modern, chic and timeless all at once. Wonderful job and great review once again!

Oh Kit, I'm blushing. :-) rlshel, the Clover bias tape maker is a must-have. You feed in bias tape and press it as it comes out resulting in perfectly even folded bias tape. They come in several sizes. You *need* them. :-)

Gigi, I think you're genius. Love all versions of this jacket, but the one with the gathered bust is particularly cute. The diamond topstitched collar is terrific: a perfect merging of form and function!
