|Pattern Description: |
semi-fitted, lined jacket has collar, collar band, shoulder pads, back yoke, forward shoulder seams, side panels, no side seams, welt pockets (inside), button tab, back vent, and two-piece sleeves.
I made size 34.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it did.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were pretty good. I just thought it could have been better if they say when to serge or finish the edges.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the general look of it, and the collar especially
I used polyester and rayon blend jacketing for the coat and faux fur for lining. (It wasn't heavy, it was as thick as chenille.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I thought 34 would fit him, but it was a little too tight, so I move the buttons about 1" away from the original spots. It was better, but 36 will be better for him.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I want to make 36 some day with different collar.
I think it's a great pattern for guys. I want to make (sort of) small versions of this to make coats for my nephews. It will look good on boys, too
