This is a simple dress with blousing at the top and a straight cut skirt. It has large front pockets.
I used a size 10 on the top and a 14 on the bottom and made them match in the middle.
The instructions were easy to follow, even with all the dots, squares & such that have to be matched around the pockets. The instructions were really good and the illustrations helped too.
I thought I would not like the pockets since I have very wide, high, hips and a very narrow waist. Amazingly, the dress pockets hide the wider hips and make me look very slender on my lower half!
I didn't get the neckline instructions, so I cut my 1st attempt off and did a simple neckline like I do on all my knits. I think I cut the neck piece the wrong way on the grain. I will try again with the 2nd one I making now.
I used a thin sweater knit that I fused tricot interfacing to on the skirt portion. It worked out really well.
Pattern changes: I am 5'10" tall and this pattern would have been a long shirt had I not added lots of length to the skirt!
I am currently making a second garment out of a slightly heavier sweater knit. We'll see how it turns out!
This dress is not that difficult and it is super comfortable to wear! To see the rest of the description, here is a blog link:
