Ilike that it's a very versatile pattern. Fabric Used:
Flannel Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I used view B. My son only wanted one pocket so I omitted the right pocket. I made a size XL. He is 6'4" tall so I added 2" to the length and 1" to the sleeve length. Also, he wanted a bigger sized button for the front placket. In hindsight, I would not have added the 1" to the sleeve length. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I am planning on making more versions of the shirt. Since my son is so tall, it is difficult to find shirts that fit properly. My other son also wants me to make him some shirts. They are both the same height so it isn't a problem. The next time I make a flannel version I will not use interfacing in the collar. It was way to bulky. The instructions were very easy to follow. I have never made a shirt and have never used plaid material. The matching of the plaid was the most time consuming part of the process. Conclusion:
I am planning on making more of these shirts. They can be dressy or casual, and good for any season. I would think that it would be a good style for a woman who wants a "boyfriend" style shirt. Just remember to reverse the side that it buttons on.
