|Pattern Description: Semi-fitted, wrap tops with gathered attached ties.|
Pattern Sizing: 6-14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, other then I decided to tie it on the back, so the ties are symmetric on the sides.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were good.Actually I was very happy with the instructions. I just finished with another pretty similar wrap top, Butterick 5785, where I complained how the front fold was made and how the collar was stiched to the back. This pattern had the same detail on the pattern but the instructions were different, making it very easy to do. I also loved that it had a straight facing, instead of repeating the fold again.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Liked the wrap style and the ties.
Fabric Used: Satin
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Set the sleeves in flat before stiching the side seams.
I usually lenghten the tops by two inches. This time I missed doing that which was a mistake, so I ended up sewing the ties lower and modified the back darts accordingly.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I already made two similar tops, so I will not, for a while, but I still like the style.
Conclusion: Nice, easy project.
