I am stuck on instruction 9, same view. I do not understand this concept at all and the provided illusration is making me feel like a complete idiot! Please help!

Hi Lisa. I'm assuming your facing looks like picture 8. You need to take your scissors and snip into the seam allowance on the back facing. you snip little cuts from the edge almost to the 1.5cm line you sewed. this is to make the piece more flexible so that you get a better fit when you stitch the facings to the jacket. it sounds crazy, but trust me if you don't do it, the facing won't lie flat under the jacket - it will look awful.

can you please tell me how you attached the part for the interfacing it seems I'm stuck on that part and the instructions are unclear to me

pin right sides together matching the seams, dots etc. then sew.
