Pattern Description:

Pattern Sizing:

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This is an easy pattern to follow the only fiddly part being attaching the side front panel to the front that has pleats. When I bought the pattern I didn't look at the line drawing and didn't know that there were pleats in the front however it turned out well in the fabric I used.

Fabric Used: Stretch polyester dupioni

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made this dress for my daughter's wedding. I chose stretch dupioni because it was the only nice white fabric I could find anywhere near my small town. The stretch was in the crosswise direction only.

I had to suffer through 3 muslins, that were sent between me and my daughter, back and forth in the mail. After several viewings/fittings using Skype I thought I had it nailed down. I traced the pattern pieces starting at size 12 at the shoulders and increasing through to size 14 at the waist and hips. I made a swayback alteration after the first muslin.

I sewed the dress and lining separately but didn't sew them together, good thinking on my part. I arrived at her home a week before the wedding and found that I had to let out the back seams to accommodate her buttocks and take in the seams at the hips. There was just enough seam allowance in the two back seams to do that and I had just enough time to finish up the dress, handsewing the chains from lining to the dress about 4 hours before the wedding.

Because of the sheen of the fabric it doesn't photograph well under dim restaurant lighting and camera flash.

Would you sew it again? Yes. I already have plans to make her one in Ponte knit.

Would you recommend it to others? yes

Conclusion: She likes the dress a lot and she plans to wear it on other occasions.

I tried to make the picture bigger, was unsuccessful. What I can see looks lovely though.

I like the idea of using all one color on this dress. I wish you had more and larger pictures.

It has a great fit! Is it white? If so, you should enter it in the Little White Dress contest. Just add a couple more pictures that give it a casual look and a dressy look. Go over to the thread for the detail and check out the gallery for ideas on the photos.
