Fabric:Poly-Lycra Knit  [See other projects in this fabric]
Pattern Description:
from site: This striking knit dress has shapely princess seams, a scooped banded neckline, a gently curved a-line shape in three different lengths (tunic / mini / knee length), and options for banded cap sleeves, ¾ length sleeves or long sleeves. It's designed to flatter the figure with a close fit through the bust, subtle waistline shaping through the natural waist, and then gently skimming over the lower waist and hips. The separate panels and princess seams give ample opportunity for fitting to individual shapes and adjusting to preferred ease
and it's all true!
Pattern Sizing:
There are eight sizes included in the pattern, ranging from a 30” to 44” high bust, and a 24” to 38” high waist - I sewed a size 4.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Everything - the fit and instructions are superb. Love that separate lines are included for tunic version and dress version. Pattern is well drafted, everything lines up correctly.
Fabric Used:
poly/lycra sweater knit from JoAnns
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I sewed a size 4, but used the AH ht somewhere between the 2 and 3. This put the apex in place, but the AH is a little tight - next one I will lower AH 3/8th inch. I also need to do maybe a 1/2 inch swayback adjustment. Lucky for me, the print is busy enough that it doesn't show the wrinkles at AH or lower back.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and Yes
Conclusion:
I was already a fan with the Lady Skater pattern - I am just as happy with this design.
