|Made for layering under my many many cardigans, but it's adorable on it's own.|
Layered under a cardi (true colours shown here)
Misses top in two lengths with neckline variations and tie belt. View E (the one I did) is a v-neck top in the shorter length, with a yoke and pretty pleats at the shoulders.
8-16 and 16-24. I made size 16, two sizes below my body measurements. There are 7 inches of ease designed into this top. I didn't even have to do an FBA, there was still so much ease.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yep, surprisingly so considering how much smaller I made the top.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yeah, I think so. I only glanced at them now and then. I do like that they recommend french seaming in the instructions, and also indicated that understitching should be done around the neckline. I might've forgotten the latter if it hadn't been mentioned.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It's a cute top! Goes together very easily with very few pieces to cut out, but still has some adorable features and looks good.
I used some lightweight 100% polyester I've had in my stash for a long time now. Very clingy, but a good match for this pattern.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The only alteration that I did here was remove some of the width out of the upper part of the back by folding out a wedge in the pattern paper. I didn't want as much gathers across the back.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would! In fact, this is my second version of this pattern. I adore this top, and it's going to make a great addition to my wardrobe! I hope I can find some light-weight cotton for another one.
I really like this pattern, it's very adorable and comfortable. But watch the sizes - this garment has 7 inches of ease designed in, which I think is way more than necessary. I went down two sizes and it's still pretty baggy on me!
