|Pattern Description: |
Pattern offers 2 versions of a satchel style bag and 2 versions of a small backpack
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I appreciated the preparation such as staystitching and clipping which helped later on. I did not find the Hair Canvas interfacing any good at all and wouldn't use it again
Curtain fabric, 100% cotton http://www.terrysfabrics.co.uk/prod/curtain-fabrics/prints-checks/first-class-curtain-fabric-mulberry/
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Did a normal pocket on the front pouch as I didn't want to leave raw edges, added topstitching, added an inside zipped pocket. Made a pad out of a piece of plastic canvas and wadding and stitched it to the bag back, inside the lining, to stop it being floppy. Also added a removeable bag bottom, to help hold the extra pad in place.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I would sew it again, but I would use regular interfacing for the outer bag NOT hair canvas.
A nice backpack, good size, easy and quick to assemble, felt happy with the result, as I had never made a backpack before!
